About Us

Ingress Junior School is a playschool initiative of Empowered Educational Trust and provides a high quality, unique, platform for learning to every child stepping in. Here the child feels, visualizes, hears, smells, tastes and enjoys today’s most enticing environment – “Nature” – and we believe this is what really nurtures the real learning in a child. Every child has a unique way of approaching the concepts of life. Ingress focusses on the experience provided to every child so that they undergo a smooth learning process.  We aim to create correct and pleasant connections of each child with each subject so that there is no fear or inhibition in their minds in future.  This strong foundation, we strong believe, will position them as confident individuals ready to take on more in the future as they step in the real world as leaders in their chosen fields of work.

A child’s brain learns concepts through simple and natural ways at Ingress. Here we make a child’s sensory system experience the subject and matter in several different ways that makes the learning process natural and fun. The methodology of education is exclusive and tailored to the individual child’s inherent need. Qualitative and Quantitative education is assured at Ingress.

Adopting the Waldorf Methodology advocated by Rudolf Steiner, the school hopes to provide an enriching curriculum and environment for the children and make a real difference in them as well as their families.  What makes this school special is that it uses the latest educational aides to benefit its students but does so with a strong link to its local environment and adapts principles that make the most sense for kids in India.

Vision

“Don’t limit a child to your own learning for he was born in another time.” said Rabindranath Tagore.

At Ingress, we recognize the rapidly changing world around us and feel the need for a school that satisfies the needs of current day students and parents. The word Ingress indicates the act of going in or entering. Our vision is to provide educational resources to our young students and give them opportunities to develop their curious minds in a manner that causes ‘entry’ of formal learning concepts to be effortless, natural and fun. Our overarching goal is to foster healthy, holistic development in young children, by creating a healthy and balanced environment.

Mission

Ingress Junior School will provide a peaceful, calm environment that is close to nature for students to explore, discover and learn from at the their own pace based on a flexible curriculum that adapts to the individual child. At IJS, children receive a broad palette of sensory experiences including vigorous physical activities and movement. In response to each sensory input there is an opportunity to experience the environment in a variety of ways and learn from it. There will be an opportunities to examine everything closely, try out and imitate everything the child sees. Children nurtured in this way, develop as free, morally responsible, and integrated individuals equipped with a high degree of social competence.

The mission of the board is to help foster a carefully curated environment to benefit our students. We are all here to serve the children and take great pride and derive the greatest satisfaction doing this work. The progress of our children inside out is our mission.

Like Tagore said, “I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.”

Programs

As new parents, your toddler is the most precious.  Nevertheless, providing a safe nourishing stimulating environment where they can freely explore and play and socialize even for a few hours a day, helps.  It not only provides the new mom with a few hours of much needed rest and time to finish her chores but also, the kid feels happy to be away and learn a few things with others outside home.  For now, gross motor development outpaces fine-motor development, but that’s only because a typical toddler doesn’t want to sit still long enough to do many activities that require significant dexterity.  We have a team of staff who will patiently help each child develop according to his or her own ability.

Before age 2, children typically believe that when adults read them a story, they are reading the pictures in the book, says Laurie LeComer, author of A Parent’s Guide to Developmental Delays (Perigee). They have little or no understanding of letters, words, and sentences. Sometime between the ages of 2 and 3, children start to understand that the story is actually coming from the words, not the pictures. Pre-reading skills include developing an interest in books, an increasing vocabulary, and learning that each letter has a different sound.  Closer to age 3, they may be able to start writing.  They are most social and will want to play with friends.

Your toddler is learning to talk and he or she is eager to understand.  Your toddler asks “why” for a lot of reasons. Sometimes he wants an explanation. Sometimes he doesn’t know any other words to express his curiosity about something. Sometimes he’s just pleased he’s asked a question that gets a lengthy answer.  When you’re reading to your toddler, he’ll be able to point out, say, all the cats or all the balloons on a page. He’ll be able to think about these things because he’s seen them in the real world. Exposure to the ‘real world’ including a walk to and from a school where he spends a few hours in the company of others, outside in the garden growing things and in the playground. This brings a safe, fun and active lifestyle  to the joy of our toddler.
